Eidfjord, Norway

Eidfjord sits at the end of the second longest fjord in Norway. The fjord is over 100 miles long and is the deepest of the fjords. The sail in was mostly dark. Hoping to catch the sights on the way out.

A very chilly day

There are one million cruise ship visitors to Eidfjord each year. Eidfjord has 1000 inhabitants. This was the second time the tour guide was not Norwegian, he was Spanish and spends his time between two locations in Norway. One in winter and one in summer.

The excursion today was to Voss Cable Car with a stop at the Vøringsfossen waterfall.

A beautiful hotel is next to the cable car
Very modern cable cars
We were served hot beverages and the most delicious waffles. The topping is fruit jam with sour cream. So yummy!

The top of the mountain was too cloudy to see into the valley. Here’s a picture of the ski trails

And views in the valley from the cable car

Back to the ship. The ride was 50 km with several tunnels with roundabouts in them!

A pre-dinner cocktail in The Living Room listening to Alejandro, the guitarist in the Journey band. Dinner in Prime C, the steakhouse. The ship departed Eidfjord at 6:00 PM so the fjord views were enjoyed from the restaurant on Deck 10

Mediterranean Sea Bass
Key Lime Pie

Off to bed. Last round of Norway golf tomorrow.
