Punta del Este, Uruguay

This tour was a short drive around Punte del Este and then two wineries. It was a private tour with Wine Explorers Uruguay. There were seven in the group.

First stop: Cofradia de la Sierra

Our host:Alejandro

Alejandro bought the land for the vineyard after having to dissolve the business he owned prior.

An unfiltered Savignon Blanc. Lovely!

Albariño 2024. 30% oak.=Yummy.
The first of four tapas. A rice cake topped with sturgeon

Alejandro plays golf. There are five golf courses in Punta del Este. He recognized the logo on Joe’s shirt. He would like to come visit. The Masters fairy might send him a hat!

Fabulous wines and pairings. We purchased the Albariño 2024 and the Pinot Noir 2024.

Moving on…

A larger winery but very boutique
Tapas. Delicious sausage and beef.
A glass of bubbly as a starter. In the background is an orange platter holding baked mozzarella. The lovely lady in the picture is our tour guide Mariela.
The available wines.
Chardonnay 2022
The view from the deck of the tasting room
We purchased two bottles of the dessert wine.

Back to the ship for three days at sea. Tonight is White Night. But I think we might just crash. Lots of tapas and wine.
