Busy Sea Day

The only sea day of this segment began with a Bridge Tour for suite guests. There were fewer than last segment. A lot was learned a little about the radar and also the ship has a large screen devoted to windy.com.

One of the favorite crew from the World Cruise joined Journey. Faul is the best barista and has a fabulous voice that he shares with the guests.

A noon presentation by the destination speaker about Edinburgh. Having traveled to Edinburgh a couple of times before, the purpose was to see if there were any snippets of new information to be gleaned. Not the case.

Rest was on the agenda. Then a cocktail party for the other 10 cruisers for whom Marianne had purchased Edinburgh Military Tattoo tickets over a year ago. The ten are a five other folks who were on World Cruise 2024 and their cruise buddies. The tickets were successfully distributed into individual apps and wine and hors d’oeuvres were consumed.

For those not familiar, the Edinburgh Tattoo has been held for 75 years. It dates back to at time when drumbeats called British soldiers from the pubs back to their quarters for the night. Military bands, drill teams, pips and drums, dancers and more put on a continuous performance and the performance is Scotland’s most cherished celebration. It is held for three weeks or so every August.

Dinner was the Acamar Experience for this segment. Another fabulous meal. A special treat, too. This suite experience is a one and done for Joe and Marianne. The generous future cruise credit from Azamara for the cancelled segments of the World Cruise allowed for this indulgence.

The serving is precise, too. Something straight out of a bygone era. Butlers in white dinner jackets serve precisely when indicated by the head waiter.
The dessert!

A big day in Edinburgh tomorrow. So off to bed to get rest.
