The city lies just north of the Arctic Circle where the midnight sun is visible from June 2 to July 10. Due to atmospheric refraction there is no true polar night in Bodø, but because of the mountains south of Bodø, the sun is not visible from the city from early December to early January. As the European Capital of Culture in 2024, it showcases rich Sami heritage, modern art, and a lively music scene.
Golf is today’s activity. The host is Bodø Golfpark. But the weather prediction is not particularly conducive to golf. Joe chose not to participate along with seven others. That was good news to Marianne as it was her day to walk with a trolley. The absentees meant that there were enough buggies for the remaining twelve players.

A shotgun start was the order of the day. Marianne and her group of Don, Dave and Grant started on #17. On #18 green there was a torrent of sideways rain. A short wait at the clubhouse was in order. Off to #1. The front nine is very much links style with the back nine more parkland.
The wind which produced the sideways rain along with a lack of rain pants caused Marianne and one other to quit after eleven holes. Ten brave souls made the entire 18 holes.

Back on the ship, four of us headed for the Thalassotherapy pool on Deck 9 to warm up. The thinking was there was more protection from wind and rain as opposed to the hot tubs on the pool deck. Not necessarily the case, but a good warm-up.

Dinner was a special dinner for 2024 World Cruisers hosted by Ngawhira, the Hotel Director and Mario, the Food & Beverage Manager. Another fabulous meal.

No show tonight. Dinner finished around bedtime.
