Uh Oh.

I may have spoken too soon. This may have overtaken Lisbon as my favorite place in Portugal. Maybe even Europe.

Joe and I headed into town on the shuttle with Ann, another World Cruiser. I had every intention of doing a walking tour with a company called “Worst Tours.” But we were 15 minutes late. So time for plan B. I ordered an Uber to the hotel I have booked for our return in September (so no pressure to see all of Porto in one day). The Uber dropped us near the metro stop we had taken to the tour. Joe was ready to sit and sip. So we found a sidewalk cafe and ordered a bottle of white port and pastel de nata.

An unusual street performer. The birds are live.

Then we walked 250 meters to the hotel. What a gem! On a pedestrian only street, near the metro station. I asked about getting to the hotel from the airport in September and the kind lady behind the desk offered to order a transfer for me. Can’t wait to go back!

The last shuttle to the ship was at 14:00. So I ordered another Uber and we got back just in time. The two Ubers cost less than three metro tickets to get to the tour. Live and learn…

Surfers in wet suits

Last loads of laundry followed by dinner in Discoveries. Then early to bed because ship’s clocks go forward an hour tonight for arrival in A Coruna, Spain tomorrow. And then kismet! I was surfing and found the U.S. Open on one of the ship’s channels. So much for early to bed. The drama was captivating and I stayed awake for the final putt. Congrats to Bryson but I was pulling for Rory.
