Left Dubai yesterday at 16:00. An hour later than scheduled because of paperwork. Captain Carl is back with us. He keeps us informed. Our route through the Strait of Hormuz will actually be through some islands off the coast of Oman.

At lunch Captain Carl reviewed procedures in case pirates attempt to approach the vessel. And a couple hours later, sure enough, four speedboats were seen approaching at a high rate of speed. The bridge sent a verbal warning and they turned away. The pirates don’t generally operate below the equator. The captain plans to run two engines during the day and three at night.
There is not a bridge instructor on board. So the remaining bridge players are playing rubber bridge in the afternoon for fun and helping the beginners learn in the morning.
The evening’s entertainment was The Other Guys, four gentlemen from London’s West End. Tonight’s show played tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The guest entertainers have been excellent throughout the cruise.
