An Extra Sea Day

The ship has had to divert to Cebu City in the Philippines because of a need for fuel. From Cairns, Australia to Palau, there were significant headwinds, seas and current. The ship was scheduled to dock in Manila on Monday, March 18, for a day and a half. Instead the ship will spend the day in Cebu City bunkering. I’m disappointed mostly for the Filipino crew who were looking forward to family time. There will still be family time, just not as much.

Tomorrow in Cebu City there is hope for a snorkeling excursion. But the tour agency won’t respond to my request for information until tomorrow morning, so time will tell.

As for the end of this segment in Hong Kong, a day in Hong Kong will be lost from the original itinerary. Disappointing because the ship will leave before the laser show.

One other note—yesterday the ship’s clocks were moved back another hour. The ship is 12 hours from EDT so I guess that means Joe and I have traveled halfway around the world! 17729 nautical miles since the ship left Fort Lauderdale January 5.
