We arrived with the sunrise.

Joe’s birthday gift was a matinee performance of the Sydney Symphony in the Concert Hall of the Opera House. There were two parts:
French composer Camille Pépin has created an enchanting expression of life’s technicolour with her Violin Concerto.
A work of long, shimmering chords, suspended and weightless, has a peerless interpreter in Renaud Capuçon, who, together with Simone Young, gave the world premiere of the work with the Orchestre National de France in April 2022.
Part Two was Mahler’s Fifth Symphony. The Sydney Symphony Orchestra has a tradition of opening their season with a piece by Mahler.

After the concert we headed back to the ship for a farewell dinner with Katy. We enjoyed dinner and a special bottle of wine at Prime C to help her spend her remaining onboard credit.
While we ate her friend Sarah did the Sydney Bridge climb. An impressive feat.

And to finish off the evening we went to the late night disco venue (my first visit since boarding January 5–I’m not much of a party girl anymore).
Sydney is the longest port stop on the cruise. So two more days of fun.
