Back to Papeete

A tropical system formed west of French Polynesia so instead of a second day in Bora Bora the ship went to Papeete to dock. I’m not disappointed because Bora Bora was not exotic or particularly interesting to me.

The wonderful part of going back to Papeete was being able to get together with our dear friends from Marathon, FL. Janice and Larry were sailing in French Polynesia on a Wind Star ship. Their flights got back to the states was cancelled by Delta so we took a taxi to The Intercontinental to hang out.

Back on board and the ship sailed at 4:30 to get ahead of the storm. 4 meter seas are expected. Waiting to see if I have my “sea legs.”

The ship is going to skip Aitutaki, Cook Islands, to travel south of the Cook Islands. The plan is to get to Bay of Islands, NZ on time.

So six sea days ahead with a couple days of rough seas…

Bags for motion sickness hanging on the handrail is never a good sign.
