Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia

We arrived Friday evening and docked next to this:

Anawa

I lucked out and found a marvelous private tour guide from Yoti Tahiti. Manaarii. What a delightful day he provided. Joe and I were accompanied by Carol and Steve from Bluffton, SC. He is an aspiring opera singer and will represent French Polynesia in an opera competition in February.

Vaimahuta
Our guide with Carol and me.
The Blow Hole
The only working lighthouse in French Polynesia
A Grotto on the west side of the island.
A sacred religious site. The ancient stone platform was used for religious ceremonies.

Mana dropped us at the Pearl Market after the tour. And I found my Valentines/Anniversary gift.

45 chronological years. About 42 wonderful years.

On to Raiatea Sunday…
