The ship was warmly welcomed to Pitcairn by the mayor and locals.

The Captain insured that it was safe to go ashore by being on the first tender. Warnings were given regarding the steep terrain and primitive conditions. Unfortunately the prospect of a half-mile uphill walk from the landing and no public restroom kept me from going ashore. But the locals came aboard with handmade wares and trinkets. Joe and I chose to support them by buying local.

We asked to at least have the passports stamped by the local authorities who were on board, but I’m not sure that happened as my passport is in the ship’s possession.
Another 25 hour day will occur when we move the clocks back an hour overnight.
