Fun facts about Peru: some of their largest exports include blueberries, avocados, grapes, mango and asparagus. 95% of the asparagus grown is exported because the Peruvians don’t like it. Over 200 varieties of potato are available in the markets. Guinea pig is a very expensive delicacy in Peru.
Moche is the area in which I am traveling and describes the people here. Hence, mocherita for a day.
I opted for a ship’s excursion to Huanchaco for a ceviche cooking class. It was terrific! And included a Peruvian cocktail, a Pisco sour. I now own a cookbook and a certificate.



A quiet afternoon and evening. We enjoyed dinner with Peg and John. They are octogenarians originally from Boston and now living in Park City, Utah. Although not world cruisers, a delightful couple who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 3.
Wednesday will be a 1:00 pm arrival into Callao, the port for Lima, Peru.
